3. Activities:
- Read the story aloud to the class using puppets and pointing out interesting people and things in the illustrations. Check for comprehension by asking simple questions after every few sentences, such as "Who is this?" (¿Quién es?). Provide further explanation if confusion arises.
- Have the students create gestures for the actions that each character performs such as, pretending to play the saxophone like the boy in the window.
Assessment:
Observe the students. Are they paying attention to the story? When you ask quick questions about the pictures to check for comprehension, are they able to answer correctly or do they need further assistance? Are they creating understandable actions? Can the other students in the class guess what/who they are role-playing? |
