18. Activities:
  • Students recall animal noises by listening to sounds and identifying the animals.
  • Students listen to tape of the song, –Vengan a ver mi granja– with added stanzas at the end as follows: –Vengan a ver mi zoológico–, –Vengan a ver mi circo– and –Vengan a ver mi casa–. Students sing the names of the animals in the song and the corresponding animal sounds.
  • Students use their puppets to make the animal sounds in the song and then walk and stand under the corresponding place of residence.

Objectives:
TLW understand and identify the names of animals and their habitats by listening to, moving to, and by singing "Vengan a ver mi granja" with traditional and revised words to match the names of animals learned.

Language in Use: la granja, el circo, el zoológico, el león, el pájaro, el pajarito, el mono, el gato, el elefante, el perro, el caballo, el tigre, vengan a ver mi.

Materials: pictures of the animals in the song, tape of animal sounds (or teacher can make them), pictures of the animal habitats
